Personal Reflections on the Rubenfeld Synergy Method

When I think about the Rubenfeld Work which I will refer to as RSM, for the Rubenfeld Synergy Method, I think of how Ilana Rubenfeld - a pioneer in the field of somatic psychotherapy - influenced my life… Twice! The first time it was when I trained as Alexander Technique Teacher and she was teaching at the American Center of the Alexander Technique and was just developing the Rubenfeld work, and she became my mentor. I was always interested in her approach to the Alexander Technique and several years later, I joined her faculty as staff Alexander Teacher in exchange for the RSM training!

Advanced Self Healing

Perhaps you know me as a teacher of the Alexander Technique with over 35 years of experience, perhaps as a Certified Rubenfeld Synergist, a somatic psychotherapy. But did you know that Illana Rubenfeld pointed the way to both these professional practices? Did you know that my relative Norman Cousins, pioneer in Psychoneuroimmunology was an influence in helping me co-found the Northeast (PNI) Institute for Healing and how this has brought me further into the wonders of brain-science?

Brain, Body, Heart and Soul

Why I have named this website, Integrating the Brain, Body, Heart and Soul?

It is because my personal path has been about integration for many years. When I left a life of "no" years ago as an actor, I began a life of healing myself and a new life of "yes. " Later I was able to gift others with what I had integrated within myself.
